I began cooking
full course meals and baking from scratch by the age of 12. Because both of my parents worked shift work,
I was required to prepare meals for the family.
Tragedy struck
in 1986 with the sudden death of my mother.
She was only 39 and one of the best cooks and example of a woman I had
known. After her passing, I became the planner and cook for my dad and brother.
Creative,
innovative, daring and delicious are words used by family and friends to describe me and my
cooking. My family says I will try
anything once and then will try to perfect it if I don’t like it. I have a passion for cooking and baking. Some of my favorites are baked and roasted
chicken, shrimp ettouffe, gumbo, crab cakes, and homemade desserts.
I am currently
completing my degree in Business administration while working a full time
job. In addition to that I am actively
involved in my church as a greeter, mentor of young ladies, and leader of the
care ministry. Most importantly, I am a
passionate lover of Jesus Christ, dedicated wife and mother of four daughters,
whom I love beyond measure. They challenge me to come up with new and delicious
meals for them.
I began blogging
because of lifestyle and health challenges and it was a requirement in our
Social Media class. I now have the new
challenge of creating quick and healthy meals to accommodate my busy schedule,
and blogging has become a tool to help keep me accountable.
Come join me on
the journey!
